东北大学悉尼智能科技学院通信工程专业由东北大学通信工程专业和悉尼科技大学工程与信息技术学部(Faculty of Engineering & IT)电子工程专业(Electronic Engineering)联合设立,于2020年开始招生,隶属东北大学悉尼智能科技学院,旨在培养从事信息获取、传输、处理,以及信息与通信系统的研究、设计、开发和应用工作的高级专门人才。专业在东北大学优势学科的基础上融入世界先进教育发展、人才培养、教育管理理念,引进悉尼科技大学核心课程体系。专业面向未来通信与信息前沿技术发展需求,注重培养学生的信息通信理论及实践能力,不断拓展学生的国际视野与创新思维,通过对信息通信系统、计算机与移动互联网、大数据、工业物联网与人工智能系统等方面的专门知识和专门技能教学,使学生深刻理解本领域的国内外理论前沿、发展动态,具备本领域的主流技术并具有在信息通信及其相关领域解决实际问题、从事学术前沿问题研究的能力,成为具有坚实理论基础、实践能力、全球视野与深造潜力的国际化交叉复合型创新人才。
Affiliated to Sydney Smart Technology College, Northeastern University (SSTC, NEU), jointly established by communication engineering major at Northeastern University (NEU) and electronic engineering major in Faculty of Engineering & IT at University of Technology Sydney (UTS), the major of communication engineering started enrollment in 2020. It aims to cultivate talents specializing in information acquisition, transmission, processing, engaging in research, design, development and application of information and communication systems. The major integrates the world’s advanced concept of educational development, talent cultivation and educational management on the basis of NEU advantageous disciplines, and introduces the core curriculum system of UTS. To meet the demands for future communication and information technology, it focuses on cultivating students' theoretical knowledge of the major, and continuously expands students' international vision and innovative thinking. With the teaching of specialized knowledge and techniques on the area of information and communication system, computer and mobile Internet, big data, industrial Internet of things and artificial intelligence systems, students will have a deep understanding of domestic and foreign cutting-edge theory, and development trends, master the predominant technology, solve practical problems in information communication and related fields, and engage in research on academic cutting-edge issues. Graduates are expected to be interdisciplinary innovative talents with a solid knowledge of fundamental theory, practical skills, global vision and further study potential.
